Magnifiers with 2-3X magnification
These magnifiers are suitable for viewing whole stamps and coins. The image found on the object can be easily viewed with their help and the fine details become visible. These magnifiers can also be used as a reading aid.
Magnifiers with 5-7X magnification
The majority of details can now be identified. Unfortunately, increased magnification of the diameter lens also means reduced reading surface. The distance between the eye and the magnifier as well as between the magnifier and the object is minimised. Magnifiers with 10-20X magnification
You are now very close the Stamp Collectors ultimate piece with this magnification and the smallest details are visible. Individual pixels can be differentiated for the majority of printing processes. You can't get a finer detail than this.


Intaglio printing becomes more vivid, microprinting can now be viewed more easily and safer, and plate flaws are more easily detectable.
Digital microscopes
Thanks to digital technology, stamps and coins can be viewed on the screen. The software provided allows you to capture images of the objects, save them and edit the image.
A good source of light is vital but not always available. LED technology now gives light to even the smallest of magnifiers so that objects being viewed are well illuminated. You can now purchase LEDs with long-wave UV light for identifying fluorescence.
